Why Telangana?

Why Telangana?

Years of backwardness and neglect from many, a political parties both centre and state have left a void in Telangana. Benefits of an Independent country have not reached to the people who deserve it. With a population of AP around 7 crores it has become difficult to attach interest to Telangana region, what with the core ministries of empowerment and development being handled by the regions of Costal Andhra and Rayalseema leaders. The nefarious nexus between these two regions has left Telangana and its people stranded and found wanting in all aspects.

The state of Telangana with its three crore people, of many major religions and multi ethnic culture with different hues, demands more for its people. People of Telangana come and join the bandwagon for Suvarna Telangana where you interest and ideas will be given the desired value.

Agriculture in Telangana:

Agriculture in Telangana has been the most neglected (The cultivation of land during Nizams era exceeded than what is of today). The Land with two major rivers, Krishna and Godavari has been relegated to a spectator. The water allotted for this area is never released. Major irrigation and infrastructure initiative have never kicked off and are a distant dream of the people.. Any attempts to get a project or irrigation initiative are tossed away with lethargy and impractical explanations by the political nexus of Costal Andhra and Rayalseema leaders.. Farmers of Telangana are a concerned lot, deprived lot. Promises have never been fulfilled. Irrigation projects are the need of hour for Telangana, but instead efforts and projects are always made to irrigate lands in Costal Andhra, which are any way extremely fertile and are in the downstream and receive water irrespective of whether a project, dam, exists or not.

185 Lakh acres of Agricultural Land in Telangana is thirsting for water. Only 51% * of Agricultural Land is associated with Irrigation compared to 97% * (93 Lakh Acres) of costal Andhra and 42% * (38 Lakh Acres) of Rayalseema. * approx figures based on recent irrigation department release.

Development in Telangana:

Development and industrialization in Telangana has been relegated to a back spot. Inspite of being capable, talented and belonging to their own motherland, Entrepreneurs and businesspersons of Telangana have no alternatives other than to cool their heels in stop gap and SME businesses. Once again, the political climate has to be extremely favorable to invest in large businesses. Until and unless there is a separate Telangana, Entrepreneurs and businesspersons of Telangana can just do enough to fill in the stop gap businesses, but cannot dare to venture in major business areas.

Telangana? Why now ?:

This is for the Zealots who are suffering from dementia. Fight for a separate Telangana took place before Independence. Demand for Telangana took place after Independence. Demand for Telangana took place in the 70s, 80s and started again in year 2000 - 2001. It is only the political establishments both at the State and the Central level that have betrayed the quest for the separate Telangana by the people of Telangana alas rules of Democracy do no tend to be applied for this region and its people.

This is for those people who question about its relevance of it now. 47 years is just a speck in the history of a state or a country. Open up your mind to the past 2000 years of history, there have been many a reorganization of countries, states, kingdoms and empires. The last 50 years of the world history has carved many countries. 243 years of American history has created and carved 51 states from the 17 states that originally existed.

Therefore, a demand for a separate Telangana State is justified in the context of Indian Democracy.
